For Educators and Parents

Registered apprenticeships allow students to enter nationally recognized programs that will lead directly to in-demand careers while earning money and building their skill base along the way.

Apprenticeships are all different depending on the employer and program, but may take anywhere between 1 to 6 years. Regardless of which apprenticeship students pursue, they will work in a safe and qualified facility, receive mentoring from experienced professionals, minimize debt, and start earning pay on day one while increasing wages throughout the duration of the program.

If you’re interested in learning more about apprenticeship opportunities, continuing the conversation with your students, or getting a student started, reach out to us by calling 208-550-9296 or emailing apprenticeship@idmfg.org. You can also complete the form on our “contact us” page. A Forging Futures or Idaho Manufacturing Alliance representative will reach out to answer your questions and share the Occupational Standards for your review. From there, we will work with you to understand expectations for the apprenticeship, fill out agreements, and have match a student with your employer!
